Baylis Forigo Café Planters are fully lined and designed to their full depth, ensuring ample space for healthy root development. Furthermore, the Baylis planter will come with drainage holes as standard, which is essential for preventing waterlogging and promoting optimal plant health. However, in order to achieve the best results and enhance drainage further, we recommend adding a layer of lightweight expanded aggregate, such as clay balls, below the soil. Specifically, this additional layer not only improves drainage but also helps to aerate the soil, thereby allowing roots to breathe and thrive. Consequently, by implementing this simple yet effective strategy, you can create an ideal environment for your plants.

“Natural” polyhemp decorative rope handles are attached to the planter upon request. However, it’s important to note that these handles are decorative only and are not to be used to pull or lift the planter. Using them for such purposes could lead to damage not only to the handles but also to the planter itself. Before making a choice it’s important to note that every piece of wood is unique – the timber reflects the species of tree, it’s growing history, the climate, geology, geography, level of management and all the other things that can act on a tree to give it’s wood the appearance and characteristics it has.

Our oak Rustic posts are manufactured from “character” wood, an attractive option that, not surprisingly, is full of rustic charm. The wood may feature knots and heartshake as well as some colour variation, all of which add to the products natural charm.

Over a period of time, depending upon the intensity of the exposure to daylight, the colour of oak will change i.e., become darker, this often happens in an erratic manner causing some pieces to appear lighter than others. This effect is natural and is not a result of the manufacturing process. The mellowing of oak occurs rapidly for the first 2 years and then appears to slow until it eventually reaches full “maturity”.

  • The Rustic post has a simple, uncomplicated design at home in a contemporary or classic location.
  • The base plates are available in two options. Either a 400mm x 400mm square or a 355mm diameter disc complete with neoprene floor protectors.
  • The timber post can be supplied in two thicknesses. The 75x75mm standard or a stockier 90mm version.
  • Complying with the Equality Act 2010 the low-profile base allows wheelchair users to pass over unheeded.
  • The Rustic rope barrier includes as standard tough stainless steel D clips, manufactured for marine use.

Our oak Rustic posts are manufactured from “character” or “natural” oak timer., an affordable and attractive option that, not surprisingly, is full of character. The wood may feature some knots, heartshake as well as some colour variation, all of which add to the products natural charm.

  • Eliminates Rust Runoff and Staining : When real Corten steel is first exposed to the elements, it undergoes a 3-6 month oxidation phase, producing intense rust-coloured water runoff that stains the floor and. Customers rubbing against the planter may possibly damage their clothing. Corten-effect creates a “locked-in” look that produces zero runoff. This makes them superior for applications on top of existing light coloured terraces and paved areas, or high-end facades where staining is unacceptable.
  • Immediate Aesthetic Control : The final colour of authentic Corten depends on local weather conditions, often starting grey and taking months to turn orange, then years to turn dark brown. Corten effect offers a consistent, pre-determined aesthetic immediately.
  • Lighter Weight and Easier Installation : Real Corten steel is heavy. Our Corten effect planters are made from lighter aluminium
  • No Need for Special Climate Conditions : For the patina to stabilise properly, Corten requires a consistent, alternating wet/dry cycle. In constantly dry or very humid, salty, or polluted environments, the patina may not form correctly, leading to faster corrosion. Corten effect is immune to environmental factors and will not continue to corrode.
