Zizzi Case Study

Zizzi is a renowned restaurant group in the UK and Ireland, drawing inspiration from Italian cuisine. The journey began in 1999 with the opening of their first establishment in Chiswick, and since then, Zizzi has expanded to over 100 locations.

Our collaboration with Zizzi has spanned several years, during which we have had the privilege of manufacturing alfresco café barrier systems and planters for more than 20 of their sites. The partnership commenced in 2020, shortly after the lockdown, when Zizzi approached us to create Wooden Framed Café Panels for their Highcross location in Leicester. These panels were crafted using reclaimed scaffold boards and finished with a clear varnish, while both the Wooden Panels and the accompanying Advance Café Barrier Posts were powder-coated in a dark grey to complement the entrance’s metalwork. The positive reception of this design led to the rollout of similar installations across over ten additional sites.

In addition to the café panels, we were approached by another designer from Zizzi to manufacture our Forjado Metal Café Planters. These planters were finished in a striking matte copper colour and featured casters for mobility, faux plants for aesthetic appeal, and the Zizzi logo stencilled on the front. Furthermore, we manufactured our Baylis Industrial Café Planters for their Camberley site, ensuring that the colour matched the Wooden Framed Café Panels for a cohesive look. This attention to detail and commitment to quality has been a hallmark of our work with Zizzi, allowing us to create inviting outdoor spaces that enhance their dining experience. Our collaboration with Zizzi has also included the design and manufacture of a bespoke wooden pergola for their Sheffield location at Meadowhall. As with previous projects, we ensured that all café barrier systems and planters were colour-matched to their signature matte copper, reclaimed scaffold boards, and powder-coated grey metalwork.
